The Global Health Partnership (GHP)
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), health is defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease and or infirmity.
However the achievement of this definition of health in various communities still remains a very big challenge as the achievement of health still continues to be compounded by various factors including inequities.
Addressing these inequities requires a concerted multidisciplinary and interprofessional collaborative approach in which each discipline or institution identifies what they can contribute, and then works collectively towards a common purpose.
This approach synergistically maximizes the strengths and skills of each member institution and can, through collaboration, contribute towards improving health services, reducing costs, and increasing staff motivation, well-being and retention.
Hence it was the above vision that fuelled the under mentioned NGOs to form the Global Health Partnership.
Global Health Partnership (GHP) comprises of the following NGOs: Ordinary Women Inc. (www.ordinarywomen.org), Revival Power Outreach (http://www.christliche-mission.ch/mission-kenia.html), Optimal Health International AIDS Network (OHIAN), Afro-European Medical and Research Network (AEMRN – www.aemrnetwork.ch ) and Lifeline Ministries.
